On Linda, Love, Loss & Renewal: The Case for Human Organ Sharing (Paperback)by E.T.Milligan

Book DescriptionNon-Fiction, Inspirational. This is the story of a beautiful young woman and wife of a then US Army Captain who passed away while waiting on a liver transplant. The book chronicles her struggles to survive while waiting on the transplant and the eventual grief and suffering on her husband and family when she died only days before a projected liver transplant. The story is meant to bring attention to the need for organ donations as well as blood donations. But it also chronicles the family's journey through grief and recovery.

This novel is especially important for minorities. Milligan shows how a shortage of blood and organ donations from blacks, Hispanics and other minorities has led to a health crisis that causes thousands of needless deaths each year.

Although written with the awareness of this medical emergency for minorities, Milligan’s ultimate message is one of hope and inspiration for all of us.About the AuthorEdward T. Milligan is a published author of both fiction and non-fiction books. The death of his wife and struggle to overcome the tragedy led him to not only write this book but also to write poetry, for which he won two national poetry awards.
